State Senator Al Landis | The Ohio Senate
State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) is urging young professionals in Ohio to apply for the Legislative Fellowship Program offered by the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. The program, which runs for 13 months, provides individuals with the opportunity to work in the Ohio General Assembly.
"The fellowship serves as a wonderful opportunity for young professionals interested in getting involved in the state legislature," said Senator Landis. "LSC Fellows have served me and my colleagues well over the years, and I always look forward to meeting them and gaining their insights on how we can address the needs of Ohioans."
The Legislative Fellowship Program hires 24 individuals each year to assist members of the Ohio General Assembly. Fellows are responsible for tasks such as constituent correspondence, writing press releases, conducting legislative research, attending meetings, and performing administrative duties.
In addition to general legislative fellows, there are also opportunities for telecommunications fellows. These fellows play a vital role in televising Senate and House sessions and committee hearings, as well as producing educational videos about the General Assembly and the legislative process.
To be eligible for the fellowship, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree. There are no restrictions on the field of study, except for those applying for the Ohio Channel, who must have a media production or related degree.
Applications for the Legislative Fellowship Program are open until April 12, 2024. Interested individuals can find more information on the Ohio Legislative Service Commission's website.
This program provides a unique opportunity for young professionals to gain firsthand experience in the legislative process and make valuable contributions to the state of Ohio. Don't miss out on this chance to be part of the Ohio General Assembly and help shape the future of the state. Apply today!
