State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) announced that the Ohio Statehouse School Bus Transportation Grant Program will be open from September 23 through September 30. The grant aims to assist schools in covering the cost of bus transportation for field trips to the state capitol.

"One of my favorite parts about being a state senator is meeting students from the district and showing them our state's capitol," said Landis. "These grant dollars will allow more students to see how state government works up close and learn more about the history of the Buckeye State."

The grants will be awarded by the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) and the Capitol Square Foundation, in partnership with Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. Any Ohio school that receives state funding can apply. The grants are limited to 4th through 12th grade students during the 2024/2025 school year. A random lottery selection will be used to choose a number of schools from each category, determined by mileage from the Statehouse.

Eligible schools can learn more and apply online.
