Today (3/10/23), we are reporting 83 new cases of COVID-19 between 2 pm on Thursday, March 2nd and 2 pm on Thursday, March 9th, and 6 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations of county residents during the same time period. Five county residents have chosen to begin the COVID-19 vaccination process since last week.
Also, the Ohio Department of Health's Bureau of Vital Statistics is reporting 1 additional COVID-19 related death in a Tuscarawas County resident reported between 3/2/23 and 3/9/23. Tuscarawas County has a cumulative total number of 543 COVID-19 related deaths. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all who have lost loved ones.
Finally, the CDC reported yesterday evening (3/9/23) that 34% of Ohio's 88 counties are at the medium (yellow) community level and no Ohio counties are at the high (orange) community level. Tuscarawas County remains at the low (green) COVID-19 community level for the eighth consecutive week.. ***The CDC recommends the following actions for residents of counties at the low community level: Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. Wear a mask if you have symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19. Wear a mask on public transportation. You may choose to wear a mask at any time as an additional precaution to protect yourself and others. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider wearing a mask indoors in public and taking additional precautions.
