In Ohio there has been an increase in the number of RSV cases and hospitalizations related to RSV (a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms). RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. In fact, RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia (infection of the lungs) in children younger than 1 year of age in the United States.
If you, or a loved one, have severe RSV symptoms, we encourage you to seek medical care. Click on the CDC's link below to learn more about RSV symptoms and treatment.
