Today (10/14/22), we are reporting 56 new cases of COVID-19 between 2 pm on Thursday, October 6th and 2 pm on Thursday, October 13th and 7 new COVID-19 related hospitalizations of county residents during the same time period. Additionally, 19 Tuscarawas County residents started the COVID-19 vaccine process over the past week.
Also, the Ohio Department of Health's Bureau of Vital Statistics is reporting no additional COVID-19 related deaths in Tuscarawas County residents reported between 10/6/22 and 10/13/22. Tuscarawas County has a cumulative total number of 519 COVID-19 related deaths. Our thoughts and condolences go out to all who have lost loved ones.
Finally, the CDC reported yesterday (10/13/22) that 76% of Ohio's 88 counties are at the low (green) COVID-19 community level, 22.7% of Ohio's counties are at the medium (yellow) community level, and 1 Ohio county is at the high (orange) community level. Tuscarawas County remains at a low (green) COVID-19 community level for the third consecutive week.
***The CDC recommends the following actions for residents of counties at the low community level: Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines. Get tested if you have symptoms. Wear a mask if you have symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19. Wear a mask on public transportation. You may choose to wear a mask at any time as an additional precaution to protect yourself and others. If you are at high risk for severe illness, consider wearing a mask indoors in public and taking additional precautions.
