State Senator Al Landis (R-Dover) has announced the guidelines for the $85 million Appalachian Community Innovation Centers program. These centers will serve as crucial community hubs, providing access to public education, community health services, and workforce development.

"These funds will provide an incredible opportunity for community members to have greater access to these critical services," Landis stated. He encouraged all eligible individuals in his district to apply for this program.

The eligible projects for funding include the construction, renovation, or expansion of existing facilities that support public education. Additionally, centers that offer physical or behavioral healthcare services onsite to support students and the public are also eligible. The centers should also provide community access for job-related programming.

The funding for this program comes from the American Rescue Plan Act Capital Projects Fund, which the state was awarded. School districts, joint vocational school districts, regional councils of government, and other political subdivisions located in the 32 Appalachian counties are eligible to apply.

Interested parties can submit their applications until March 21, 2024.
